According to the Ethnologue, there are some 17,000 speakers of Lutos in
in the Central African Republic, in the Ndele, Kabo Andoro and Kabo Subprefectures,
and some 1980 speakers in Chad in the Moyen Chari Prefecture south of the Ngam
in the Grande Sido Departement.

According to the Ethnologue, there were some 5,400 Vale speakers in 1996, living in
the Batangafo, Kabo and Kaga Bandoro Subprefectures of northern Central African Republic.
