This volume is dedicated to the study of four of the Eastern Sara Languages: Daba, Nar, Ngam and Sar. It contains an introduction to the Sara Languages, a description of the unique aspects of Eastern Sara, and lexicons for each of the four languages containing 900 to 1300 words, with a sample sentences and translations in French.

The Western Sara Languages
This volume is dedicated to the study of three Western Sara Languages: Kaba, Laka and Ngambay. French - Na Lexicon:
With English Introduction

Na, also known as Sara Kaba Na, is a Sara Kaba language spoken by some 35,000 speakers in the area around Kyabe in southern Chad. This lexicon contains approximately 2780 words, 2000 sample sentences, and 580 idiomatic expressions. There is also a 50 page introduction explain the basic features of the phonology, morphology and syntax of the language. This Na lexicon provides an excellent starting point for a future dictionary of this language.

Lexique Nangnda

Nangnda is a new name that has been given to a small group of Central Sara languages, including Bediodo, Bebote, Pen and Yom. The language/dialects are spoken in Southern Chad in the area around Bediondo, and Pen, to the south and east of Doba. This lexicon contains approximately 2700 word, over 1500 sample sentences, and 600 idiomatic expressions. This Nangnda lexicon provides an excellent starting point for a future dictionary of this language.

This work consists of a DVD containing software for accessing all of the languages currently available for the Sara Language Project: Bebote, Daba, Gor, Gulay, Kaba, Sara Kaba Na, Laka, Mango, Nar, Ngam, Ngambay and Sar. The software allows you to view each language on the screen with a dictionary view, and to click on words and sample sentences to hear them spoken by native speakers from Chad.
